If you wondered what our O, Christmas Tree pine needle ice cream tasted like - our girl Akilah is here to tell you.

We’re struck with delight every time Akilah sends out her video. See, a few months ago she participated in a “Guess the Flavor” for our Mango Sticky flavor. Remember that? We sent her (and everyone who guessed) free pints of ‘scream for being so cool and engaged. She made her first video that month, and, as an honorary MilkMade Member of our ice cream of the month subscription, has continued it since. We love it.

Last week we delivered our holiday pints to our Members. Roasting Chestnuts and O, Christmas Tree. We had to post some of the quotes - they were just too good.

Just ate @milkmade pine needle & candied cranberry ice cream and life will never be the same. Celebrating christmas in my mouth! - Derek F.
Pine tree ice cream by @milkmade - no words - Jenny B.
O, Christmas Tree ice cream is delicious. Tastes like…a Christmas tree! - Elliot W.
Just ate half the christmas tree ice cream pint from @milkmade without coming up for air. Whoa, pine and cranberry! - Benji K.
2nd batch! Chestnuts Roasting and O Christmas Tree (that’s right folks, pine needle ice cream with candied cranberries). I’ve died and gone to Christmas ice cream heaven. - Tenley A.
Just received my first month of MilkMade! Going to eat this for dinner most likely. - Chloe D.
Okay, THAT is delicious! It’s crazy, but it’s great! - Missy C.
We had a delicious surprise when that great ice cream was served. We all loved it and so appreciated your thoughtfulness. The vision of you lugging a tree in the rain made the taste all the more special. What an innovative idea. Don’t think I will ever look at a Christmas tree the same again. Thank you and have a lovely Christmas. - Gerry O.
Thinking about offering O, Christmas Tree as part of our #Lickstarter. What do you all think? Email us (hi at milkmadeicecream.com) if you want to get your hands on a pint. Pronto, before we head out for the holidays!

The making of MilkMade flavor #100, O, Christmas Tree.

Step 6: The ice cream is totally not green, as one might expect a Christmas Tree ice cream to be. And that’s just because it’s all natural, no artificial flavors or colorings in our pints. Here’s a batch of freshly churned ‘scream with our candied cranberries mixed throughout.

Step 4: Now it’s time to steep the pine in the cream so we can extract all the pine-y flavor.

Step 2: Three steps here - we cut the branches up, cut the fronds off the branches, and then pulled the needles off the fronts. It was quite the process and all passersby in our shared kitchen space looked at us like we were crazy.
