white russian chocolate chip ice cream
A little pick-me-up to jumpstart the new year. White Russian Chip (aka The Dude Abides) is another in our drink-turned-ice cream repertoire (see Frozen Hot Toddy, Southern Sweet Tea). It’s a coffee ice cream base with a splash of coffee liqueur to round things out, and chunks of dark chocolate to add a little crunch.

We’re using beans from Crop to Cup for a coffee ice cream base. We’ve told you about Crop to Cup before, but, hey, let’s do it again. Crop to Cup is “family farmed” coffee. The beans are sourced from small-batch growers around the world. You can even trace your cup and read a profile on the farmers.
And our chocolate is from the famous Mast Brothers of Brooklyn. They craft bean-to-bar chocolate right here in New York. And it is amazing. Check their story.
Here’s to 2011! Dude.
